One of my favourite times of the year is late summer as we move towards autumn. Harvest time , this year with all the rain the blackberry hedges are bursting with fruit. It's very satisfying to spend a morning collecting the blackberry's, our young apple tree after not baring fruit last year was full of apples this year.

I have switched on the stove ready for a day of batch baking to preserve all the fruit. The sweet anticipation of the warmth of the oven and the scent of baking.

As the pies and crumbles slowly bake in the oven I will take the time to start some autumn winter illustration.
For our summer holiday in August this year we travelled around the Highlands where I found inspiration in the stunning natural landscapes, the colour and the animals.I loved the wild untouched landscape with the purples Hughes of the heather.

Autumn time as well as harvest brings my thoughts to planning, I am a bit of a stationery addict and love looking through various planners to chose one to use for winter planning of the following year.
This year I have decided to create my own which I will fill with cosy country cottages ,nature and animal characters. I can't wait to share it with you
