Cosy illustrations

Autumn is a time when I feel most inspired. There's something about the cosiness and warmth of the colours of nature that I love, it is the simple pleasures in life I like to celebrate, beautiful gardens, cosy cottages and animal freinds

Sometimes I paint from a photograph and sometimes it is just an image from my imagination. My little mouse painting was inspired by the blackberry hedge at the back of my garden, when I'm sat in my little garden studio on occasion I've watched a mouse busy about it's day scurrying along the bottom of the hedge.

I spent a lovely afternoon gathering blackberry's and baking before settling down to paint. Though my little mouse watercolour painting would be very pretty in a nursery, I like to think she would make like minded friends smile too as I believe we are never to old to love a hedgerow fairytale about mice.
