Christmas card designing

As we move towards autumn I start to create artwork for my Christmas range, My first design was inspired whilst I was blackberry picking and I spotted a little wood mouse.

I always start with a little sketch and then begin to build in detail. I love to draw animal characters likely influenced by the Bramberley hedge illustrations by Gill Barklem and Beatrix Potters books I was brought up on as a little girl. I still love the wonder they bring and love to create that feeling in my own designs.

I loved painting this little watercolour, the first of my 2026 designs.

I have a busy week ahead finishing of my planner design, working on Christmas designs and exhibiting at Tarporley togethers art exhibition , I will be sharing more updates soon thanks for reading love Sally B x
