Blackberry picking

My inspiration most often comes from the countryside around me , this week I noticed that the blackberry hedge that sits at the back of our garden was full of blackberry's that have ripened it seems earlier this year. There is something so cosy and comforting I always think about the gentle turning of the seasons.

I am quite partial to a apple and blackberry crumble and so a happy morning spent harvesting the blackberrys to freeze ready for autumn crumbles.
The local farmers are starting to harvest some of the wheat so I went out to do a little painting inspired by the mid summer season

I loved sitting painting imagining what the harvest and woodland mice might be doing. These thoughts turned into drawings ans then into paintings.

And so two new paintings were created. You can now find these in my shop as prints.https://www.sallybelinda.co.uk/product-page/blackberry-picking-mice-print
